Project Background:

North Italy has parted ways from the other Italian regions several times in history. It is the ideal link between Southern and Central Europe.

Primarily, this project's goal is to show the genetic makeup of North Italy and to put in evidence its peculiarity by comparing it to the Italian population in general and to the neighbouring countries of Central Europe as well.

Moreover, it may be that, as the number of participants becomes larger, we can observe genetic and/or genealogical connections linking some of our members.

I would like to encourage all the members of this group to join Vincent Vizzacchero's Italy DNA Project as well. For we are Italians, first.

Some of our members' ancestors might have changed their names when they migrated to another country.
In order to make genealogical researches easier, I think it can be useful to note such alterations occurred in time:
