This project's main goal is to show the genetic makeup of North Italy, putting in evidence both its affinities and peculiarities in comparison with the rest of the Italian population and with the neighbouring countries of Central and Eastern Europe too.

Also, it's possible that, as the number of participants grows, we may observe genetic and/or genealogical connections linking some of the participants to the project.
