Kendall DNA Project- Background

Kendal, Kendale, Kendall, Kendel, Kendell, Kendle, Kindal, Kindale, Kindall, Kindel, Kindell, Kindle

We are conducting the Kendall DNA Project. The project is open to all members of the Kendall, Kindle, Kindall families or any variant spelling.

The study is a Y-chromosome DNA surname study. The Y-chromosome only exists in males. It is passed from fathers-to-sons, virtually unchanged, for generations.

Therefore, to be included and tested you must be male; either carry the Kendall surname or a variation of it,  be a DNA match to a project member or a member sponsor.  Ladies are extremely valuable to our study. Since they can not directly participate, they can represent their lineages “indirectly” by locating a male relative top participate on their behalf (aka member sponsors). We require every member share their Kendall lineage.  Sharing documented lineages will make interpretations easier when a DNA match is located.  We recommend the Y-DNA-37 test.

If you are interested in the DNA project or would like to learn more about the process, please contact me or review the FAQs at or contact me directly.

Thank you
