About us

The Kendall DNA Project consists in two parts; the autosomal DNA study and the Y-DNA study. The Kendall DNA Project is part of the larger Kendall One-Name Study. The Kendall One-Name study collects and researches all Kendall (and related spellings) occurrences and families. We currently have a Facebook group: The Kendall One-Name Study... The autosomal portion of our Kendall DNA Project is open to ALL Kendall descendants who have taken an autosomal DNA test: FTDNA's Family Finder test or a third party test uploaded to FTDNA. Ladies are extremely important to our study. They can test take the autosomal test and also locate (and sponsor) male relatives to take a Y-DNA to represent their family. The Kendall Y-DNA Project is a surname specific DNA study. The Y-chromosome only exists in males. To be included in the Y-DNA project, you MUST be male; either carry the Kendall surname (or a variation) or match a project member. We recommend the Big Y-700 DNA test. If your budget doesn't allow, you can purchase the Y-37 or Y-111 tests and upgrade to the Big Y-700 test at a later date. Every member MUST take a Family Finder (autosomal) test or Y-DNA test AND share their Kendall lineage to project administration.
