About us

1) Test for YDNA of male Zweiner lines- using a minumum 37 marker test. This test is statistically relevent for historical genealogies going back 150-200 years.

2) Test for 67 marker YDNa tests to provide details into possible lineage markers between known related lines. This can be used to better approximate the historical DNA haplotype or earlier male Zwieners back several more hundred's of years

3) Test for minimum of female HVR2 (mtDNA Plus test). Generally this test will provide results to the ethnic origins of the period of the last Ice Age, also called ancient or Deep Ancestry tests. These results may be of an uncommon haplotype with but a handful of matches that may be widely dispersed since te last Ice Age. It may contain a very related lineage but it is indistinguishable from those that are distantly related. Or one may get results of a common haplogroup that may have several thousand matches in the HVR1 and a hundred or so in the HVR2 region results.

4) Test for Mega or Full Sequence mtDNA complete mtDNA analysis will be the only test to assuredly get a definititve match between historically related female lines. This testing can be done on a direct female line or of a direct female line ending with a live male son to do the testing. This can be done for earliest known matriarchs as a "Family Proejct" with descendent researchers contributing to the project for this more expensive test.

5) To compare Zwiener DNA tests with that of other surnames to look for an earlier origin of the name.
