Males with the Kasbohm surname or a variant or who believe that their male line used the surname or a variant are strongly encouraged to participate in Y chromosome DNA testing to see whether they are related to any of our other participants and to assist us in clarifying the relationships between our project members. Testing of at least 37 markers is recommended for this purpose. Sometimes it is best to start out by ordering testing of a smaller number of markers and to order an upgrade test to give results for more markers later. You are encouraged to write to the project administrators for advice on test selection.

Both males and females who descend from Kasbohm families are strongly encouraged to order autosomal DNA testing to see if their results reveal any relationships to other participants and to help us clarify the relationships between project members.
