In addition to genealogical matching, Y-DNA testing can also be used to discover the deep ancestry of your direct paternal line. This webinar focuses on Y-DNA haplogroups and how they relate to your deep ancestry. We’ll also discuss the Y-DNA Haplotree, SNPs and subclades.

E-M44 is a male sub-haplogroup of E and is not a surname project.  In almost all M44 men, we have discovered that yDNA STR markers are DYS391=9 and DYS392 = 12.

Membership requirements:  FTDNA yDNA tested men who meet the above conditions. To join simply click the Join Request tab to be linked to FTDNA  There is no charge. Members NOT HAVING TWO TYPICAL YDNA STR MARKERS will BE REQUESTED to test POSITIVELY  for the E-M44 snp.  ALL the email addresses listed on a FTDNA member's record will be considered members of the project .

MEMBERS ARE ADVISED TO CONSIDER PRIVACY ISSUES WITHIN AN EVOLVING  HAPLOGROUP PROJECT.  WHILE THE PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR ATTEMPTS TO PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY, THOSE WHO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE SHOULD DROP OUT OF THE PROJECT.
