If you're visiting the Carl Project and are a little confused about what's going on, that's to be expected. For about the past year, the administrator has experimented with different ways of organizing the Y-DNA data. Probably the arrangement we have now is more or less permanent, but it is subject to evolution as new kits are added. Of course, actual DNA profiles will not be changed, because those lab values are supplied by FTDNA. However, the arrangement of the profiles into subgroups is the job of the administrator and that may evolve with fresh understanding of the data.
