Interested parties having lineal ties to the WILLIAMSON group of surnames may apply to join this genetic genealogy research project registry in the search for a greater knowledge of their ancestors.

Genetic genealogical testing (Y-DNA, atDNA, and mtDNA) is utilized for the purposes of comparative matching and analysis to shed new light on available documentary evidence — and thereby resolve questions of ancestry which current interpretations based primarily on geographical locations have not been able to resolve.

Operating Framework

The Williamson DNA Project encourages its members to seek DNA-related assistance directly from FTDNA.

Collaboration with fellow project members is also encouraged by way of independent venues — such as patriline-focused social media groups and forums — as well as direct contact with DNA matches (for whom email addresses are provided by clicking on a match's name within one's list of DNA matches).

Adherence to these guidelines will provide the most accurate and reliable research path for project members.

This project registry utilizes a digital space, referred to as the Activity Feed, for project announcements relating, but not limited to, project news, technical issues, DNA findings, and/or genealogical discoveries.

Members may participate in the Activity Feed by way of proposed content submissions emailed to WilliamsonActivityFeed@protonmail.com.
