About us
The VanHorne/VanHorn/VanHoorn DNA project is intended to determine descent, in the male line, from one of the three immigrants to New Netherlands, before 1664, whose descendants used the surname--Jan Cornelissen, Christian Barentsen and Matthys Cornelissen. It is, however, not limited to descendants of those three men. If your surname is one of the various spellings of Van Horne, no matter when your ancestors came to North America, please feel free to become a member of the project. As an added benefit, in addition to line of descent, the test may be able to identify the geographical point of origin of the original immigrant.
Three tests are available, for 12, 25 or 37 markers. The 37 maker test is the most conclusive, but it is also the most expensive. Please select the test with the most markers your pocket book can afford.
THE VAN HORNE PROJECT REQUIRES A BRIEF PEDIGREE AND JOIN APPROVAL BEFORE JOINING WRITE TO THE PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR AT: msvnhrn@jps.net, TO DETERMINE IF THIS IS THE RIGHT PROJECT FOR YOUR NEEDS.
