The Autosomal DNA Project helps clarify how and where participants fit within the approximately twenty identified Stiles/Styles family lines. We also work with SFA historians to compare results with the 370,000 individuals in the SFA master file.

About half a dozen participants have died, and their family members manage their accounts. About a dozen participants have not entered family trees, and only one has not logged into her account. We continue to remind participants to name account beneficiaries. Fifty participants signed into their accounts between June 2025 and June 2026, indicating they are actively pursuing research about their families.

Communications and outreach continue to be an area for improvement. Ideally, each participant would receive personal contact at least once a year, with group updates sent quarterly. So much to do, so little time . . .

Administrators from the Y-DNA and Autosomal DNA Projects meet monthly by Zoom to share updates and set priorities. Additional volunteers would strengthen the project. We welcome help with DNA analysis, communication, genealogy, and recruiting new participants.
