About us
In the 1720's two brothers, one married, one not, came over from the small county of Wied in Germany and settled in colonial New York. These brothers, Friederich and Johann Philip Sensebach, were the progenitors of many of the Sensebach lines (typically Sinsabaugh, Sensabaugh, Sencabaugh, Sincerbox, Sincerbeaux and similar) in North America. Those Sensebachs can then be traced back several generations further in Wied, to Cuno Christian Sensebach, born around 1585, and a graduate of Herborn Academy and Heidelberg University, and an administrator to the Counts of Wied.
