Manuscripts from Wales and England, the Vatican and Scotland, seem to be telling us a story which I have published in ‘The History and Genealogy of Merrick’ a compliment to the George Byron Merrick book from 1902. In addition I have one of the only surviving copies of Alice Meyrick’s Genealogy which recounts her work as an advisor to ‘Gone With The Wind’, the story of the southern Meyrick lines.
Also a sister project with the northern US branch of the family "Myrick" line with which we are sharing information.
My Merrick lines are from Mostyn MS. 117 which dates from the late thirteenth century. The earliest being Peniarth MS.45 of the second half of the thirteenth century. It overlaps with both the Harleian MS. 3859 and the Jesus College MS.20 (998-1400) Now during the period of the Safrahime, 400BC to 70AD, many bought genealogy to claim kinship to Abraham. So are we really Jews as the manuscripts suggest? Did we come from Merari? (Num.26:57) Is Levi and Abraham our father? Is the phonetic root preserved from Merari to Merrick as I suggest in my works? Only our DNA will tell. To match, I need one from the clear paper traceable line of Israel Merrick from Md. and Tioga County PA. Further more these studies are being matched up with others who are seeking to know their own linage and history as well as help find those who have lost their family roots by adoption or destroyed records.

Some years ago I became curious about my family tree. The result has been a calling of a drive within me to somehow find the exact information about my name and where I came from. My father as a child told me stories about the family, where we came from, and how we were from Wales. Yet when I asked how come David Merrick the famous producer, who had a son Daniel W. Merrick, the same as my name, was a JEW the room went silent. You see in the 1920's and 30's the world had become party to a damnable heresy called "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" which was written by the Gemanic/Italian alliance in the Nazi movement to try to draw the protestant United States and Europe into hate doctrine against the Jewish blood lines as a mud race.
So when I as a young boy asked why other family members were Jews and we were not, that was like saying why aren't we Christ killers or targeted to be killed by the KKK or Nazi's? Fear ruled the day in the early to mid 1900s in the US and the rise in the Catholic population had caused much unrest with the war brides after World War I. One must remember that the Wars of Europe had its roots and ideology in religious difference and racial hate based on political doctrines.
Gregory Peck had played a part well in "Gentleman's Agreement" (a variation of the term Gentile Men) where his famous line of disdain for antisemitic society and restrictions as he pretends to be a Jew in the movie to see how those around him will act so he can write a story about antisemitism as a reporter. Peck says in the movie "They Think we' re all White Christian Merricks" . Unknown to the script writers or the producers, the line of Merrick came from the linage of Merari right out of the Bible. It is a strong protestant line but with clear roots in the Hebrews of Israel and it's 12 tribes.

After looking for years at book after book about the family line, I established www.MerrickFoundation.Org to share the family history I had found and later we added the DNA Family Tree DNA association which has provided us with the answer to the topic WHO AM I and WHERE DID I COME FROM:
Although the calendar is off by adding thousands of years to the only 6000 year history of mankind, the truth is in the DNA that Merrick and all the M620 CODEX including all the variations of the name Meyrick, Merrick, Merc, Merola, Myrick, Mirrick, etc. and the DNA to date shows that we have the R marker which came from the J over 2500 years ago when the Merari moved from Babylon to Ukraine, then west to Europe and Wales, Spain and England. Through Germany from the Semite regions the progression is clear in these maps from the DNA research found here at family tree DNA.
From J1 and J2, who are the tribe of JUDAH and ZEBULON with some inner mixing of Levi, parts of the Semitic population broke off from Israel, the rest of the tribes and sons of Jaccob (Yahcob). In truth in 70AD this J1 and J2 were carried away into Italy by the conquering Romans and then inner married into the lines in Europe. That is why we see that many Italians have olive skin, having had a more white complexion prior to the mixing from Semitic DNA.
So we can see the largest part of the population of Europe was in fact first from the Middle East and the tie to Babylon is clear not just in the DNA trace maps, but in the Historical records found in the Bible.

After the Captivity, many of the Merarites had taken what the Bible calls Strange wives, which means Non-Hebrew or non-Israelite wives. So when some returned to Israel and Jerusalem, others went to the North as the migration maps and DNA traces prove. As recorded at Merrick Foundation, the family moved to the middle of Europe and settled in England and the western countries. In 262 BC King Coel Codebog of the MARI also know as the line of A-MAR which was the legendary AUTHOR King of England, Coel Codebog was crowned the first BRIT-ISH KING meaning the Covenant People. (In Hebrew Birt is Covenant).
From Wales that family line had 58 kings in the kingdom of Powys and the Royal family did not break off from this line having both the tribe of Judah and Levi in it, until King Edward the Third. The line had been named ZE MAR in Germany, Merc in France, and Mero and Merola in Italy as well as Zimmer and Mericah in Ukraine. The word for MUSIC was MUSICA in the Ukraine where the line first traveled, and the Mar REE KAH became the name from the very biblical charge given the line by King David, to sing and play Music.
These Phonetic roots are found over and over in historical accounts of different lines which root back to the origins and with DNA now coming to the forefront in advanced research and scientific methods, both linguistics and biology merge into a revelation of the truth of who we are.
So we can see from the DNA that a great deal of us can in fact find out WHO WE ARE and WHERE WE CAME FROM and know that the Genealogy and science line up to prove the facts. I am a LEVITE from the Tribe of Merari and my name is Daniel Merrick. I am Israel and an Heir to the promise by the adoption and restoration as promised in one of the oldest history books that mankind has, the Bible.
The tested members to date have shown a common forefather in Merrick Ap Llewellyn (Merrick son of Llewellyn of Wales) and branched to John Meyrick B.1513 - D.1538, and the Right Rev. Roland D Meyrick who first translated the Bible into Welsh about 1550.
Along with the public history of such well known Merrick family members as the famous movie producer David Merrick and his son Daniel W Merrick of Hollywood (who also has the exact same name as I do) we find clear Jewish roots in faith and in blood lines from the Y DNA traces. These two major branches of the family shown above, come through European lines in the many different family names and have migrations from the British Isles, France, Italy, and northern Europe Germanic lines some of which came from the eastern European lines.
I find this study to be unique in that many who deny Biblical accounts of the history of the 12 tribes of Israel often set their genetic markers as from the Mother's lines in modern Jewish religious groups. This ignores the precedence set in Biblical history noting the stressed importance of inheritance in the succession of lines by the father's DNA (father to son) and proves that political and societal trends we are discovering here may become enlightened with the relevance of DNA studies.Where the right of return and inheritance of the land of Israel has become a part of daily news, we must consider the importance of family lines and how that may effect the political and legal standing for those who seek to migrate again and return home to Israel where their forefathers came from.
