This project arose out of a desire to identify the descendents of three brothers named William, Thomas, and James McCamish who were apparently born in Ulster and migrated to America in the 1770s. They spent the Revolution in then Bedford County, Virginia. Thomas and James served as Revolutionary soldiers. After the war they relocated to Greene County, Tennessee.

It is open to all with these surname variants attempting to identify relations and family origins.
