This Y DNA project and genealogical records research has identified that the McCamish surname originated in North West Ireland and descendants bearing this name immigrated to America, Australia, England, New Zealand and Scotland. Over time the links between McCamish immigrant families and their relatives in Ireland were lost, so the aim of this project is to try to uncover how descendants of the Irish McCamish family are connected in a contemporary context.
