The goal of this project is to help identify the MacNicol/MacNeacail branches by DNA signature and assist in defining the geographic spread of the Clan. Two key pieces required, a known-for-certain ancestral place of origin of your particular MacNicol naming variant married or linked with your haplogroup or ideally what is some times referred to as your 'terminal' SNP (pronounced 'snip'). This will allow us to do mapping with a higher degree of certitude than what is likely driving many current maps out on the commercial market that are,  of course, consumer driven.
