GOALS as it concerns our Y-DNA, Autosomal, Facebook, www.Jones-DNA.org, and WikiTree one name study initiatives:
Our first and most important goal is to help our members by dramatically increasing our Y-DNA Y37 numbers (Y37, as a minimum). And for those that have taken some sort of autosomal test, we urge them to file their results with GedMatch.
We believe our Jones project member head counts are a fraction of what it could be compared to other common surname DNA initiatives.
To accomplish better numbers, we have been establishing new collaboration processes, retooling our knowledge-base, and creating a better feedback loop between our members and the insights we've learned from our data. We believe with better systems and better outreach, more prospective members will become enthusiastic and eventually join our ranks.
It's our hope that we can eventually catalog all the existing (and historical) Jones pedigrees and whenever they are related, we can explain those branches and sub-branches.
