About us

The Greater Hindustan Y-DNA Project is a collaborative genetic genealogy initiative focused on the paternal lineages of populations originating from the Indian subcontinent and neighboring regions. The project welcomes participants from all ethnic, linguistic, regional, caste, tribal, religious, and diaspora backgrounds. Our goals are to identify Y-DNA haplogroups, discover new lineage branches, reconstruct migration patterns, and better understand the genetic history of South Asia through the integration of genetics, genealogy, archaeology, linguistics, and historical research. Whether your ancestry traces to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Afghanistan, or the global South Asian diaspora, you are invited to join and contribute to this growing database of paternal heritage.
