About us
Thank you and welcome to our “home project”
My name is Adrian Foushee and I have been actively researching my family for more than eight years. With online information I have made inroads that in the past took others many more years to reach. But the availability of information still does not overcome every brickwall that one encounters. DNA led to my connection to a cousin that is also a family sleuth. It was this cousin connection that led to corrections, new insights and the hammer to break down walls. We have shared and continue to share information and support. If one connection can do so much, more collaborations will overcome even more walls. Success can only come about from collaborative effort and participation. Sharing documentation as well as DNA is essential to progress in extending our pedigree.
This DNA project was established in June 2017. We are still very young but seek to increase participation and make discoveries that will be of benefit to all members. Membership and participation in the Foushee Ancestry Project, as with any FamilyTreeDNA (FTDNA) project, is FREE. Administrator(s) of the project is a (are) volunteer(s); no financial remuneration from members, vendors or FTDNA is provided to administrator(s). A general fund has been created for the project, and is solely for assistance in paying for tests of members whose results may be of significant benefit to the project goals. Donations to the fund are voluntary.
While this project is for members' review, research and collaboration, any data obtained from the project should be appropriately credited to the Foushee Ancestry Project, its administrator(s) and/or FamilyTreeDNA (FTDNA). Notification of use of data for purposes other than personal research must be provided to the administrator(s) for review and approval.
Foushee Ancestry Project - Disclaimer
The Foushee Ancestry Project exists to assist and support descendants in their genealogical research through DNA testing. Participation in testing, sharing of documents, and histories are paramount to the progression of the project. Certain genealogical goals have been outlined for this project; and over time it is anticipated that goals may change. As any success is dependent upon the level of participation and data obtained, the administrator(s) cannot and does (do) not guarantee the success of these or any goals.
The Foushee Ancestry Project is a genetic genealogical study based upon Y-DNA and autosomal DNA analyses. Member’s participation is of his/her own choice (or the choice of the individual’s appropriate representative),responsibility, and genealogical interests. There is no guarantee that any one participant will match another participant. DNA analyses conducted within the scope of this project do not and will not address medical/health issues, nor criminal or legal issues.
