About us

This project will be focused on the families of Aaron Davis b. 1830 OH and Orinda Davis b. 1832 OH and other as yet unknown Davis siblings in this family.  Aaron and Orinda lived in Hopkins County Texas in the 1840s – 1860s, though their descendants moved to other locations from there.  This project may also include descendants of their spouses Milton Finley and Jane Campbell by other marriages, as well as other relevant relations (Blackmore, McGee, Beebe, Blundell, Newman, and more) to help clarify and sort by dna lineage.

We will be looking to confirm their ancestors as well as descendants through the use of traditional genealogy resources combined with dna testing and analysis.

1854 Land issued to Ruhana Proctor, formerly Ruhana Davis, wife of Joseph Proctor.  (Certificate #8)

1862 Milton Finley and Solomon Blundell are listed as brother-in-law to Aaron Davis and heirs to Harmon Blackmore.  Others listed in the agreement: Matthias Ward, Philena Blackmore, Newman McGee, Matthew Stephens, Adolphus Beebee, John Beebee, Lurana/Lorinda Thompson

It is possible, even likely given known documentation, that Rowena/Lurana/Ruhana Blackmore, sister to Harmon Blackmore and Philenia Blackmore is mother of Aaron and Orinda Davis.
