The Coffin Project Launches a GoFundMe Page
February 6, 2022
The Coffin Project is now able to receive donations from people who are not project members. The Project's GoFundMe page provides a way for the general public to donate funds to the project.
Fundraising through GoFundMe was kicked off by a heartfelt donation from the family of Chip Coffin.
Chip descends from Tristram Coffin Sr. and his wife Dionis Stevens through Tristram's son John Coffin. This branch of the family is known for its many anti-slavery activitists and abolitionists. Family members were deeply involved in the underground railroad during the 1800's, until the American Civil War finally ended legalized slavery in 1865.
