The purpose of this male chromosome Y-DNA project is to identify whether you are a genetic descendant of Tristram Coffin Sr. -- no matter what country you live in or what your ethnicity is. With enough testers, this project will establish a genetic Y-DNA baseline for each of Tristram's five sons and their descendants across the United States, Canada, and around the world. : Tristram Coffin Sr. was an American colonist who emigrated from Devon, England to Massachusetts, USA in 1642. This project will be of interest to males who want to take the Y-DNA test to determine whether they descend directly from the Massachusetts colonist Tristram Coffin, regardless of ethnicity. Females may participate in the project if you are managing the DNA kit for a male tester (father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, son).
