About us
The goals of the project include the following:
- to recruit Clancys to provide DNA samples for Y-DNA analysis;
- to assist those with the surname to identify common ancestors using Y-DNA;
- to establish how many independent origins of the surname exist;
- to assist all those with the surname in their ancestry to identify common ancestors using autosomal DNA; and
- to encourage project members to connect themselves to their end-of-line ancestors at WikiTree and to connect their FTDNA kits to their WikiTree profiles.
End-of-line Clancy ancestors of project members at WikiTree include the following:
- Bartley S Clancy;
- Cornelius Clancy;
- Hugh Clancy;
- James Clancy;
- John Orangeby Clancy;
- Michael Clancy;
- Sinon Clancy;
- etc.
As of 29 August 2026, WikiTree did not yet have a Clancy One Name Study.
