Our goal is to continue to increase the number of active participants taking the minimum 37 marker test. Project membership currently stands at over 300 participants and growing, many of whom have had 37 marker tests. The professional advice we have received is that 37 markers is adequate to determine if you are descended from an Egan or other MacAodhagáin derivative, but extending to a larger set of markers will assist with resolving the detail of branches in particular parts of the tree. There is a growing number of people taking FamilyFinder tests as well, and although we don't do any analysis on these, it is a useful way of finding potential relatives within 5 generations, especially if you have little information at this level.
