This project was transferred from WorldFamilies.net (WFN) to the 'in-house' FTDNA project management pages when WFN retired their services in May 2018. Terry Barton at WFN had hosted hundreds of surname DNA projects that didn't have a dedicated volunteer administrator — including the Bowie surname project — until his retirement in May 2018. At that time, after checking with the Bowie Facebook group to see if anyone there wanted to administer it and since Bowie is a spelling I include in the Bowes DNA project, I decided to request from FTDNA that I be the new volunteer admin of the Bowie project.
