This project has been created to bring together dna test results for descendants of Edward Bolen, Sr. of Ireland and Orangeburgh District, South Carolina. Edward Bolen was reportedly born about 1740 in Ireland. He came to South Carolina in December 1767. Edward married Ann Elizabeth Salley about 1773. They had a large family of sons and daughters with the daughters marrying into the Argoe, Gleaton, Judy and Phillips families. Edward and Ann Bolen's children produced over 50 grandchildren, most of whom also had large families.

Since we are including the Family Finder test results in this project, female descendants as well as male descendants (even without the Bolen/Bolin surname) can participate!
