This is a Y-chromosome DNA project for the Norman surname (and its variant spellings). We include all Normans worldwide. In the United States, our research focuses on identifying immigrant ancestors, especially those earliest ancestors who arrived in VA, MD, and MA during the 1600s and 1700s. We are looking for descendants of these early Colonial Normans, all of whom are urged to join us in this study. Outside the U.S., we seek to find the geographic origins of all the various Norman lines. All Normans worldwide are welcome and encouraged to join.
