Welcome to the Worrall project. This project looks to unite Worrall’s worldwide. Whether you are a Worrall by birth, marriage or adoption, you are welcome here. Together we can breakdown the brick walls that exist in our family trees and learn how we are related through genetic genealogy. All surname variants of Worrall, such as Worrell and Worrallo are also welcome to join! This projects focuses on Y-chromosome testing, which examines the yDNA that is passed on from generation to generation between direct line Worrall (or Worrell) surname males. To maximize the effectiveness of testing, the Big Y700 is recommended for all testers. It will help us define and distinguish branches of the Worrall family in such a way that both paper trails and STR testing alone cannot (i.e. they do not go back far enough). SNP tests like the Big Y700--that is to say tests that show the mutations in a surname families yDNA--are an essential link between the genealogical period and the pre-genealogical period. The Big Y700 also includes 700 STR markers which can be used to identify closely-related branches within the Worrall surname family. The Big Y700 routinely goes on sale at certain times of the year, which makes it more affordable, such as DNA Day, Father's Day and Christmas time. I would recommend ordering it when it is on sale.
