Hello, In October 2003, I initiated the Wilkinson project to help find distant cousins, as I had reached a brick wall in my genealogy research. Since then, DNA research has advanced significantly, and the accuracy of tests continues to
improve. We now have many members participating (including atDNA, mtDNA, and Y-DNA), and we have identified 7 distinct Y-Haplogroups.

Modal Haplotypes: Each subgroup has a "modal" STR profile (e.g., common values at DYS markers like 393=13, 390=24 for R1b groups). Matches within 4–7 genetic distance (GD) at 37 markers suggest shared ancestors in the 1400s–1700s.
