About us
The original goals for this project were to determine if the various families descended from immigrants John Whitney, Henry Whitney, and Samuel Whitney were related or not. They were found not to be related. Now, anyone descended through a Whitney male line can determine which of the main Whitney families they belong to.
The Big Y tests allow us to start to build the branches of the tree, but also allow us to place family groupings within the complete tree of mankind, and show the nearest related other families. This can be helpful in determining possible places of origin.
