"Wayne C. Whitlow, 91, of Amarillo died Friday, March 18, 2016.
Born Oct. 20, 1924, Wayne was the eldest son of Chester and Clora Whitlow.
He served in the Army during World War II as a platoon sergeant [and was awarded the Bronze Star].
He married Mary Lee Grant in Amarillo on Dec. 10, 1949, and they were married 66 years.
Wayne was a superintendent at Missouri Valley Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 1989.
He also served as a deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church and Country Church."
