About us

May 17, 2010
Two kits were made available for testing, which was completed on 15 May 2010. Both participants have documentation identifying their Most Distant Documented Ancestor (MDDA) as William Whitlow Sr. born about 1669 in Virginia. (Note: This has turned out not to be the case. Y-DNA  testing since then, has shown four of the original five testers to not descend from William Whitlow Sr. born @ 1669.)

We have received markers Y37 data for kits numbers 176716 and 176718. They each match 176715 and 176719 at 37 markers. The project has now achieved one of its goals, which resulted in affirming with a fairly high probability that Major Whitlow and Nathaniel H. Whitlaw share a common ancestor, likely James (III) Whitlow, b. abt 1753 VA. Upgrades to Y-67 have been ordered for kit numbers 176715 and 176719.
