My great grandfather, John Calhoun Wallace 1837-1914.
My grandfather, John Hampton Wallace (1878-1931)
Hi, I hope the photo turns out so that you can read it, right now in the pre-save view it's not showing that it will save properly....so I will ask this question based upon the information in the abstracted record below....Does anyone know who JOSEPH WALLACE of NEWBERRY SC is buying this land from ANN LUMPKIN in JASPER CO GA in 1809? If the photo does not turn out properly I can send the image directly to either an administrator of the Wallace DNA project who perhaps can do a better job of posting this information. Right now my surname of interest is BRASWELL/who married the Davenport line in Newberry SC 1790s. This ANN Lumpkin is sister-in-law to the GEORGE LUMPKIN who died in Jasper co GA of which a William Braswell also died and a Lumpkin handled the L/A for both D'cd men. I'm trying to identify this Joseph Wallace if anyone knows. Thanks...KD
Hello Wallace Family! My name is John Dove and Thomas Wallace is my 4th great grandfather. His obituary is above. The Doves who have recently joined the project all descend from Thomas Wallace's granddaughter, Mary Catherine Wallace (1852 -1925). She married John Thomas Dove (1849 - 1919).
I wanted to share this photo of my 3rd great grandfather - John Wallace. I believe he was from Dublin, Ireland as per a baptism record I found that is possibly his. I believe his parents were Robert & Mary Wallace. He served in the American Civil War and later moved to Illinois where he stayed in a veteran home until he passed in 1904. He was born 1822. The one thing that is "off" to me is that he was a farmer over here in pa and in Illinois but I cant see anyone living in dublin being a farmer in the 1800s. I could be wrong though. I used his chidlrens names as a guide for evidence of his birth parents. He also was listed as a protestant on his records in Danville, Illinois, although the church he was baptized in was catholic.
Hi, my name is Robert Carlyle (RC) and I research the Burnside family. My cousin Kenneth Ray Burnside took a ydna test for me and I have uploaded it to this group with the hopes of finding out if the family lore (the family name used to be Wallace) about the Burnside name was true. I have attached an article about the name change. Unfortunately because I just did the transfer of the dna to family tree dna and Kenneth has died since his dna test I don’t have a way to view much of the connections. If someone would be so kind and let me know if the dna looks like it is part of a Wallace connection and anything else you could tell me about it would be great. The dna kit is B305261 under Walter Burnside.
