The initial effort, was focused on taking the project administrator’s DNA and comparing it to a Dubs surnamed individual from Switzerland. The results indicated that there was no recent DNA connection. This result indicated to both parties that each needed to regroup and establish more regional matches, if possible. It is important to understand that there are several possibilities for individuals not matching, including that of non-paternity. It
is now the fall of 2007 and we are beginning to establish a good data base. We now have members who descend from Hans Jacob and John Dubs of Lancaster/Lebanon County PA, Oswald Dubbs of York County PA and Jacob Dubbs of Lehigh County PA. Our results are now toying with matches of 34 of 37 and 35 of 37; We expect of have some closer matches in the near future.
