The Book, “The Dubbs, Dubs, Dups, Toops Families by Minnie Dubbs Millbrook and Mary Alma Day, Pub: May 30, 1977, is the primary basis for the Toops family research effort. It’s foundation is oriented about three brothers Henry,Hans Jacob and John Dubs who emigrated to the American Colonies from 1729 to 1743, from Affoltern Switzerland. The three brothers settled in the Lancaster Pennsylvania region. Their listed descendants, including those of Hans Jacob Dubs, which later settled in Ross County Ohio, were the original subjects of this project. However now we are pleased to welcome other "Dubbs" families into this surname project, for example, descendents of Oswald of York County PA and Jacob of Lehigh County PA.
