Picture of my great grandfather Ventura Hernandez Flores.He was born on W.Nueva St.in San Antonio,Texas in 1853.His parents were Joseph Anabato Flores and Maria Susana Coy Hernandez. Joseph Anabato's father was Jose Ramon Flores and he was a soldier at Presidio San Juan Bautista de Rio Grande. Jose Ramon Flores petitioned his Capt. Juan Jose Solano permission to marry Maria Guadalupe Arrendondo and it was dated 1822. I could not find the actual marriage certificate. Jose Ramon Flores was on a San Juan Bautista Troop Burials list and his death is listed as"Killed by Indians" in 1844. Jose Ramon's Baptismal list Francisco Flores and Francisca Javiera Galvan as his parents.Maria Guadalupe Arrendondo Flores is listed on 1850 Census of Bexar County,Texas along with her chilbren.
