About us

Edward 'the immigrant' Taylor (a) Edward (ti) Taylor arrived in the Colony of New Jersey in the late 1600's. His 6 known children were born in New Jersey. Of the 6 children one was female and 5 were male. The oldest son (aa Edward) was born in 1678 and married Catharine Morford, daughter of Thomas Morford. They had 11 children, 6 sons, 5 daughters. The second child, (ab Hannah b. 1680) married Thomas Stillwell by whom she had 2 sons and 2 daughters. The third child, (ac George b. 1684) married Helena Johnstone and had 3 sons. The fourth child, (ad William b. 1688) married Hannah Grover and had 3 sons and 7 daughters. The fifth child, (ae John b. 1690/91) died in 1721 with no known children. The sixth child, (af Joseph b. abt. 1692) married 1st Miss Clayton and had 2 sons and 4 daughters, married 2nd Eleanor Covert and had 3 sons and 3 daughters. We have confirmed by both Y-DNA and documented evidence, the present day descendants of 3 of the 4 sons that had children. aa Edward, ac George, and af Joseph. There are many assertions, all without proof, of the name of his wife. Until documented proof is provided we do not assign a name to (a) Edward's wife.
