All relatives of the SPIEGELBERG and LUEDTKE Families are welcome to join this project. While the project is focused on Y-DNA Testing Results and posting of those results, ALL relatives are welcome to join this project to see how our lines are connected. Your request to join will be sent to a project administrator, who will contact you to verify your connection to either the SPIEGELBERGs or the LUEDTKEs - or both! Today, SPIEGELBERG and LUEDTKE descendants are found living around the world, with most being concentrated in Europe and the USA. The ancestors of the SPIEGELBERGs and LUEDTKEs found in the USA originally came from the Pommern region of Prussia in the mid 1800's. Most of those immigrant families initially settled in Wisconsin. As the years passed, we scattered throughout the US to follow our dreams for land, employment, romance, fame, fortune or other various reasons. Currently 11 SPIEGELBERG or LUEDTKE males have tested their Y-DNA and joined the SPIEGELBERG - LUEDTKE Project. Of those, six males (four SPIEGELBERG and two LUEDTKE) have been tested with Big Y-700. The results show that the two surnames share common ancestors in the Mid to Late Middle ages. Additional MALES with the surnames of SPIEGELBERG and LUEDTKE are WELCOME and ENCOURAGED to TEST their Y-DNA and "JOIN" this project. We recommend testing AT LEAST Y-37 and preferably Y-67 or higher. As those results show a match or connection, you may wish to upgrade to a higher level of testing (Y-111 or Big Y) to get more accurate results.
