Welcome to the worldwide Snipes surname Y-DNA project. This project is open to any MALE with the Snipes surname. We are primarily focusing on early American and Snipes family lines from the British Isles and Barbados. Many people can trace their Snipes ancestry back to the Revolutionary War. One of the goals of this project is to help sort out the various early Snipes families and to identify those who came from other countries prior to the 1700s. We hope that over time enough Y-DNA data can be collected from verified lines to enable others to determine their line, or at least accurately determine which early Snipes family they are from. This will, in turn, help people focus on an area or family when doing genealogical research instead of trying to research all the early American Snipes families. Snipes Family of America, Inc., researches all Snipes lines and welcomes information from any Snipes, male or female, concerning his or her lineage.  So any and all male Snipes are welcome to join the Y-DNA project, even those without an American ancestor.  We encourage all female Snipes descendants to contact Snipes Family of America, Inc., if they wish help in researching their lineage.
