Hi There!

I'm actually Gord's daughter, Coral. I'm the one who initiated contact and then Trevor helped me doing the DNA stuff. I just got emails back saying they've received the pkg and hopefully I'll start hearing some cool stuff soon! I think Dad's family (some) moved to Canada in the late 1800's from England/Scotland type of deal. Dad's mom is a Chisamore, subset of the Stuart clan. Apparently some Rix's originally settled Orillia Ontario, going by some of my own genealogy books. I have 2. One is written from the McKay side and the other is from the Rix side, which my Uncle (not a Rix) compiled several years ago. It's mostly hand written.

I have joined this group as requested as it seems my son yDNA results means this is where he belongs and not in the Lane project. There is no surname Rix or varients in his tree , so I assume there has been at least one indiscresion that has changed our paper names. Is there any way of telling when the change occured. Im guessing not. Also now Im here (his mom) what happens next?

That's interesting! I'm waiting to hear what goes on from my dad's. He comes from massive farming/churchy family - started in Ontario and wound up around Wetaskiwin, AB and Carstairs, AB. 18 in the grandfather's family...would have been 21 if they all lived. Dad is now 80.
