This is the FTDNA R-L1335 haplotree as at January 25th, 2019
https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/r-1b-l1335/about/bulletin

#1 This is the current order used by FTDNA for both personal and public haplotrees.
#2 The alpha order is as per our colorized page, although the rows with 0 in #9 have no members at present.
#3 There are 757 SNPs making 272 branches, with an average of 2.78 SNPs per branch (including equivalents).
#4 With R-L1335 starting with 0, there are an average of 6.84 levels, and a maximum of 13 levels at present.
#5 Non project members have 132 BigY2 results, on 90 different branches, including 35 not represented by members.
#6 Project members have 373 BigY2 results, on 201 different branches, so 236 are terminal branches for someone with BigY2 results.
#7 Project members have 216 terminal SNP results from FTDNA, on 43 branches, including 14 where we have no terminal BigY2 results.
#8 Non project members have 510 terminal SNP results from FTDNA, on 41 branches, including 3 where we have no terminal results.
#9 FTDNA have a total of 1231 R-L1335 men, on 248 of the 272 branches, for an average of almost 5 men per populated branch.

THE COLORIZED PAGES HAVE BEEN UPDATED AND RENUMBERED

Since the implementation of the Public Haplotree, FTDNA have changed the way they add branches. To avoid having to renumber the subgroups every time they move a branch, I have changed all the subgroup numbers to 0, which causes them to be displayed in alphabetical order (as was the case in August 2017).

This is similar, but not the same order as the FTDNA haplotree. Some of the more marked differences are branches near the bottom of the R-L1335 part of the public haplotree, being shown near the top of the colorized pages, and vice versa.

All equivalent SNPs are shown for the subgroup branches, with the exception of two branches, which have been truncated slightly, due to the 160 character limit.

You only need do Big Y-500 once. Prior to early this year, we had to buy one of the STR tests (Y12, Y25, but mostly Y37, Y67 or Y111) before we qualified to buy Big Y.

Now Big Y-500 includes the complete Y111, plus a heap more new STRs to get to Y500 (most actually get >500), plus a true SNP discovery test, that will pick up the vast majority of known and new SNPs that define our more recent family Y lineage.

New members can jump straight into Big Y-500, and anyone without Big Y can upgrade. Best to hold off now until the Holiday Sale, usually mid Nov to end Dec.

The most helpful test after Big Y-500, is for a 4th cousin to do a Big Y-500, as they will likely match all your singleton unnamed variants but one (on average).

The next most helpful test is for a 8th cousin (or closish Y67 match) to do a Big Y-500, as they will likely match all but a couple of your singleton unnamed variants.

Taken together, this will likely give you two extra branches, each of which can be aged.

A YEAR OF GROWTH

"I just remembered this is about when FTDNA started the cut-over from Hg19 to Hg38.  I remember saving the tree right on their last Hg19 version.
As of 10/09/2017 there were 4,153 branches on R1b portion of the FTDNA haplotree.
Since today, 10/08/2018, there are 7,001 branches we've seen a 69% growth over the year."

THE BIG TREE

R1b-L1335 now up to 377 men. In total there are now 5953 men on The Big Tree, although many have not yet uploaded their hg19>hg38 upgrade results.
If you have any Big Y matches without their hg38 (BigY2) results on the The Big Tree, now would be a good time to upload them to the Data Warehouse.

R1b-L1335 now 678 SNPs on 246 Branches (from 155, up 59% in one year)
