Haplogroup H2a3 coverage map according to Living DNA. In Sicily and Italy is absent.
Here are my YFULL matches with two samples from Italy and the rest are Eastern Europeans.
I am italian from the island of Sicily and this is my MtDNA H2a3's age estimation from Yfull. I am quite confused about it. Most sources in internet says this haplogroup is mostly found in Eastern Europe, while others say it's italian. Most researches I did point to Eastern European countries, most of my matches are also Eastern Europeans with two samples from Italy. Any member from here has an idea about it? Any member is H2a3 like me?
Some age calculations from YFull (for mt)
Can someone explain this ? Recently I took a MtDNA full sequence which placed me in the subclade H2a3. My match list shows matches in the HVR1, HRV2 and Full Sequence with different genetic distances and the closest ones with a genetic distance of 2. Since I am from Sicily, I looked for and found the project "Sicilian" and I gave a look at the mtDNA Test Results for Members. As you can see from the screenshot I have taken, there are 3 people there with subclade "H2a3" including me as the kit number IN67518 and another person with the kit 257434. The picture include the mutations from the RSRS. Do you notice we have exactly the same number of mutations? The CRS shows also exactly the same mutation. Why doesn't this person appear in my match list with a genetic distance of 1 ?
