The purpose of the Middletown Settlers DNA Project is to learn more about the interrelationships of the 89 first settlers of Middletown between 1650 and 1700, and to understand the genetic fingerprints of those settlers and their countries of origin.  Secondarily, the project seeks to explore the outer limits of autosomal DNA testing for relatively distant ancestors.  Some participants may be able to establish a direct link to one of the 89 original settlers, but most will find a connection through one or more of a first settler’s descendants.
