According to the Annals of the Four Masters written in the 1100s we MacTighernans or surname variants descend from both the O'Conors of North Co Roscommon who were the high kings of Ireland and The O'Rorkes who were kings of Drumahaire in North Leitrim. The O'Ruairc of Breifne and 138 MacTighernans [McKiernan} from twelve countries and five continents have completed the DNA test.
