Preliminary results
Y-DNA evidence suggests that 3 testers who are likely descendants of the Charming Betty and Ship Halifax immigrants are more closely related to each other than to other testers who are likely descendants of immigrants from the Ship Phoenix. The still-unidentified MRCA (most recent common ancestor) of the 3 testers was likely born 1367-1773, most likely around 1605. This preliminary result is the first known evidence that the descendants of these 2 immigrant families share a common paternal ancestor.
Y-DNA evidence suggests that 7 testers who are likely descendants of immigrants from the Ship Phoenix, Charming Betty, and Ship Halifax, as well as an unknown line, all share a common paternal ancestor. The still-unidentified MRCA was likely born 1357-1709, with the most likely estimate being 1559. This preliminary result is the first known evidence that the descendants of these three immigrant families share a common paternal ancestor.
