The Kucharski Project is a DNA surname project that has been started to help with the genealogical
research associated with the surname “ Kucharski ” and all of it’s varients.
Kucharska, Kucharski, Kucharsky, Kuekzkowski, Kuezuk, Kukarski, Kurcewski, Kuharski
The name Kucharski is believed to be an occupational surname from the root “Kuchar” meaning Cook,
or a geographical name of someone from a place named Kuchary (which most likely got it’s name from
some type of association with cooks). In either case the probability is that there are many different family
lines who carry the name. It is our hope that the project will be able to identify these individual lineages
and thus provide additional information on Kucharski ancestry.
Because this is a Y-dna surname project participants should be males who have the Kucharski surname or a varient.
Women who are interested in the project can have a Father, Brother or male Cousin with the Kucharski name submit the dna sample.
