About us

The Kent Family & DNA Project is a FREE community of genealogy researchers interested in collaborating with one another to enhance their genealogy experience.

Some researchers have taken a DNA test in an effort to establish which KENT families are related, but it is NOT required! There are two ways to get involved with the Kent Family & DNA Project.

1. As an Associate Researcher. Your KENT family lineage and contact information will be posted on our Lineage “Results” page. (DNA testing is NOT required!)

2. As a Project Member. You must have an account with our preferred testing company, Family Tree DNA (FTDNA). All project members have taken a “Family Finder” test and/or a Y-DNA test with a minimum of 37 markers (or higher).

Information on how to list your KENT family lineage, DNA tests available, or how to add your current DNA results to this project is available on our "Goals" page.
