SNPs in BLUE are available at Family Tree DNA.  If you are a member of this project, do not purchase any of these SNPs.  SNPs in RED  are NOT available at FTDNA, but can be ordered through Y-Seq.  Presently the J-L210 is downstream of the e J2 SNP Pack.  

Our members; ROTHSCHILD, SOSLAND, KING & LEFKOWITZ have all done Big Y,  and all have had their results analyzed by the private company "YFull".  As you can see, they are all positive for a SNP called J-Y15238.  This SNP is dated at around 1300 C.E.   As the GÜNZBURG line has a MRCA (Most Recent Common Ancestor) who was born around this time, it is very possible that this SNP could have occurred by a KNOWN ancestor.  If so, then this GÜNZBURG ancestor may be the common ancestor for everyone who has the J-Y15238 mutation.  

What this means for you is that if you test some of the newly discovered private SNPs, you also may be able to connect to an ancestor born many generations earlier than your oldest known common ancestor.  Please contact our administrators before purchasing SNPs from either FTDNA or YSeq for help in determining the best SNPs to order.   Each of the men who have done Big Y have additional private SNPs that you may wish to test.
