The objective of the Hollyer, Hollier and Holyer Y DNA study is to identify the characteristic DNA 'marker patterns' of the various family lines and see which arise from a common origin, such as North Warwickshire for English Holliers and Nantes, France for many US Holliers. It will be interesting to see if the Somerset Holliers are connected with any other lines. We also expect to find quite separate family groups, for example the Kent Holyers and Hampshire Holliers, but also hope to explore how far the Warwickshire group spread: are the Oxfordshire Holliers related?
