The Higdon Y-DNA Project at Family Tree DNA was established to help identify all unique Higdon lineages and to help members connect to others who belong to each lineage. This is why we encourage you to participate in this project to help all of us fully realize the vast scope of our various family lineages. Please note that only men possess the Y-Chromosome and therefore only men can take the Y-Chromosome DNA test. If you wish to participate in this project and you are the mother, wife, daughter, sister or niece of a Higdon family, then you must find a male member of your Higdon family (husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, etc.) to agree to take this test.

Our Goal at the Higdon Y-DNA Project is to encourage Higdon men from all over the world to participate in Y-Chromosome testing to help better define the various lineages of the Higdon surname and to better understand the deeper ancestral history of our families. We do that by providing this forum to help you share with and identify potential members of your particular family line.

With the recent price drop to $49 () for Family Tree DNA’s 12 marker Y-DNA test, we feel that now is a perfect time to encourage men from all Higdon families around the world to participate in this project. We hope you will join with us in the search for our family histories.
